Teacher

In times

of good

and bad

I let nature

be my teacher.

One leaf

sways

as gently

as a summer song,

not so I can sing along–

but to remind me

that I belong

in these last pieces

of greenery,

they are not simple

scenery

they are our home

a good climb upon a hill

does more for me

than an hour in mass,

sings me back the source

layered in my own skin

not to spite religion

but society warms itself

on separation,

these leaves

that sway

sing songs of connection

of life

that will stand

long after we fall–

no human controls all.

Instead I open up

my window,

lean into the wind

and listen.

Something Real

Compliments

of division

my life story

mingles in threads

of Catholicism

and the like

and I must stop myself

from pulling them loose.

Fighting anything

will never result

in absolution

I do not want to dismantle

the quilt;

I just want to prove

that it is nothing more

than patchwork.

Positive energy

can be difficult to gather

when your tribe has only consisted

of society and people living on the line

of nothing more than muddled minds–

it’s a connection that never lasts.

Instead of fabrication

I seek connection to nature’s past,

present and future,

the fact that the present

is the only reality that can turn us inwards

face us homewards

we are all connected by something greater:

Being, love– they live inside of us.

Religion crumples before it,

nationalities will laugh,

countries torn by economic mishap

and strife will fall to their knees

when we realize that the external fight

will never result in internal freedom.

I do not want to destroy a notion;

I just want to shine light on the beauty

of something real.

Let Us Be the Light

Knowing

that one religion

is not one religion

it is one love

We are all

here

and we all need

that one thing

fly away to the one truth

that was ever needed.

Love

me

like the sister I am to you;

why can I only use the term

brothers

Our Love

transcends

we must learn

and accept

and embody the truth

that God the term

is but an empty promise

but God the Truth

exists in every form,

every purpose,

every light.

Let us be the light.

Let us be with

Him,

with Her,

with all of us,

in the truth of “now.”
