S

Your story,

as important as it has become to you in this life,

is just a story.

There is something bigger at work here.

Your story,

as important as it has become to you in this life,

is just a letter.

It’s the letter “S”

with its roadway curves

and lack of edges–

it is a letter, in a word,

on a page, in a book.

The only truth is connection.

The only outcome is surrender.

Why be a Feminist?

It’s

been on

my mind, lately.

……..

I

watch Zen

Buddhism videos every

……

day

and yet

today is the

…..

first

I have

watched a woman.

….

The

songs on

the radio really

….

are

just “okay,”

when one yells

“pussy”

I shrink

inwards, when “Choice,”

“Respect,”

and dare

I mention “Love”

….

are

excluded from

our social vocabulary

…..

I

want more

90’s anthems and

……

80’s

love songs

I want more

…….

Feminism

I want

all Feminism, all

……

Compassion

no rape-

culture, no need

….

for

school reform

I want Equality

for my mother, my sister, for me.

Flow

A simple life

a solo life

is not a life off-course,

.

We must teach

our sails to turn

to a new wind

.

I want to learn

what it is like

to be accepted by my own skin,

.

I want to feel

what it is like

to pull the oars and steer

.

What it is like

to let hatred eat up

your skull

.

Only evil would know,

not I, not you, my sister,

we’re Love

.

Love the simple,

Love the brave,

Love the everything will stay the same

.

Now change

because even that facade will fade away,

the impermanence of all holds meaning

.

More than my hands around a cross,

Now I’ll get lost

in the mind that identifies too much with itself

.

We are body,

We are mind,

We are soul,

.

Flowing

in one place,

together.

.

To clarify, I am and grew up Catholic, and I DO believe that the cross is meaningful.  I believe that Christian spirituality holds many basic truths as do belief systems such as Buddhism.  They overlap more than we may realize at the surface.  What I take away from both systems is that we are all connected to a Divine source (whatever It may be), that we are all connected, and that we must live in the “now” to access It.

while reading Buddha

you

must go straight

to the punchline:

is there a problem

to solve to begin with?

Search your mind

for causation,

 organization

you’ll often be left

dumfounded

“I solved that problem

four years ago.”

Okay–

so now we’re here

now time for a quote

about, “thinking too hard

will only hurt your head,”

Buddha was right.

If you’re problem free,

my friend,

continue to float away

in your simplistic, real-life

vision of the moment…

it’s the only honest version

of now.

Interconnectedness

Me:

I was tired

of me

being alone

with a whole world

to carry

you were here

are

here, too–

so when I see

the clouds

I see faces in the sky

compassionate beings

sprinkled

like powdered sugar.

We are all

more

than all equal

we are all

needed

every last drop

of the ocean

must be raised up

with a spoon

before we can move on

to a new millennium

and pretend we were never

so caught up in

me,

you,

I know–

now

is the time to create.

It is time to create a Buddha.
